fleeting season with us in
Brooklyn, New York

Learn
Over two inspiring days, Cara and Courtney will share their signature romantic and modern design aesthetic as they delve into how they build colour palettes, choosing the correct ingredients and achieving a light and airy feel to all of their designs. Students will have the opportunity to design their own lush and unstructured bridal bouquet and table centerpiece, and together as a group we will work on a foam-free installation.
Capture
During our time at the Boathouse, we are so privileged to have Erin of Grace & Ardor Co. there to capture our work and our time together.
Nearly a decade of experience in design, art direction, and branding have built a strong foundation for her photography—one that captures people and places in their truest, most beautiful forms. She is largely inspired by the principles of fine art and the ethereal qualities of romanticism, resulting in imagery that’s soft yet striking.
Spring in New York would be ideal for already established florists looking to freshen up their skills, add some gorgeous imagery to their portfolios, to feel inspired, to connect with other creatives and to fall even more in love with flowers.
Itinerary
-
We will meet in Brooklyn, at the historic Boathouse located in Prospect Park. After introductions and a light lunch, we’ll settle in for our first 2 flower classes. Cara will demonstrate how to design a rambling table arrangement and Courtney will demonstrate how to design a romantic bouquet. Then with assistance and guidance, the students will create their own.
-
Drawing on our learnings from the previous day, we will together create a large scale foam free Ceremony installation. Upon completion, all bouquets and installations will be photographed with a professional model. Arrangements will be photographed on a styled tablescape for portfolio and social media use. Beverages and snacks will be provided throughout the day. As dusk settles in, we will travel together to a local restaurant for a beautiful farewell dinner.
-
With fresh pastries and coffees in hand, we will meet for an optional guided tour through the New York City Flower Market in Manhattan. This experience offers students a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of buying flowers wholesale in a market setting.
Tour will take place in the early morning and conclude our time together.
A more detailed timeline and venue address will be provided to attendees.
